Earlier this week, JIM HAGER’S memorial service lined the streets of Nashville with tour busses… today, The passing of Country Music Legend and Hall of Famer EDDIE ARNOLD strikes sadness in the heart of Nashville and country music fans around the world. EDDIE ARNOLD, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, ranked as Billboard magazine’s single most popular country artist of all time. Selling more than 85 million records, with 37 singles charting on the pop charts and many more impacting the country charts. Arnold was the Cary Grant of country music, full of laughter and a great sense of humor. He was also the first to earn the CMA Entertainer of the year award and when asked once how he would like to be remembered… He said, “I’d just like to be remembered as an honorable man,”… he got his wish. On American Idol, Jason Castro is out and Sayesia stays! I know, you think American Idol isn’t exactly Nashville… but bare with me… see, here in Music city we have Nashville Star and JOHN RICH of BIG & RICH is one of the judges for Nashville Star… how does that fit together?? Well JOHN RICHrecently criticized Idol saying the difference between the two shows is that Idol is scripted and the artists are told thing irrelevant to the performance of their talent… like what to wear and that won’t happen on his show. He even went as far as saying that it was disrespectful what Paula did to Jason Castro the week before when Paula criticized a performance before he hadn’t even performed yet, he would flip her the bird and walk off stage. Now after having a conversation with former Idol Phil Stacy… I was told that the reason the judges know about the performances ahead of time is because they watch the rehearsals so they already know pretty much how the show is gonna go and they take notes… But personally I wouldn’t want to argue with John Rich… so I won’t tell him… Nashville Star moves from The USA Network to NBC and premiers Monday, June 9th.
